Halfway there! Marketplace Fairness Act Soars through the Senate

This evening the Senate cast their final, binding vote in favor of the Marketplace Fairness Act. The overwhelming bipartisan vote shows a clear consensus is building on Capitol Hill for closing the online sales tax loophole.
AMSF Members Played a Critical Role
A critical moment in this fight occurred when AMSF members from across the country flew to Washington a few weeks ago to speak to their Members of Congress about the importance of passing e-fairness.
The standalone Marketplace Fairness Act was introduced shortly after that effort, so it’s clear that all your efforts are truly making a difference in the fight for e-fairness.
None of this could have been possible if it weren’t for your hard work, emails, letters, and calls to your Members of Congress, not to mention raising awareness of the need for e-fairness in your communities.
More Help is Needed to Convince the House
We’re ahead of the game for the moment. However, we still have to get our bill through the House of Representatives.
We’re only halfway there. We still have to make sure the House of Representatives not only understands how important it is to level the playing field but takes action now to pass legislation to level the playing field for retailers.
We’ll be in touch with you in the coming weeks to help you make your voice heard clearly by your U.S. Representative. Until then, thank you once more for your dedication to closing the online sales tax loophole.
