Taxes

The Alliance for Main Street Fairness believes that enacting comprehensive tax reform would stimulate job growth in our industry and various other industries and local communities supported by our businesses.

However, a proposal in the U.S. House of Representatives would impose a new enormous tax on all imported goods, driving up costs for small businesses and their customers.

The border adjustable tax, as it is called, would replace the broken and unfair tax code we have today with another broken and unfair tax code that would force consumers to pay more so that some big corporations could potentially pay no taxes at all.

Our nation’s businesses and consumers deserve a tax code that is equitable, coherent, and administrable. Having such a code will reduce compliance costs, releasing funds for business owners to continue to invest in their communities and grow.
