Search by Name

On the page, you will be provided with a blank search bar where you can enter the business name. Click “Search” once you’re done.
You will be routed to another page with a list of results based on the information you provided. From this list, scroll down until you find the particular business you’re looking for.
You will also see on the page additional information about each business, including the location, current status, and business type. Click a business name, or simply click the “details” at the last column in order to load more information.
You will be directed to another page in which additional information about the specific business is shown. Additional functions are also made available on this page such as updating business information, purchasing a Certificate of Existence, as well as viewing more filed documents.
Search by Entity Number
Using this method will give you the most accurate results since every business has a unique entity number.
To begin, open the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code Business Search portal. Change the search type into “number” and enter the number of the business. Click “Search” once you’re done filling out the search bar.
If you have correctly entered the business entity number, the page should only generate one result. The result generated is directly connected to the number you have provided.
Details will also be displayed on this page such as the business’ location, current status, and type. Click the business entity name, or simply click the “details” at the last column in order to load extensive information about each entity displayed on the list.
After clicking the name, you will be routed on the last page which contains extensive information about the business entity in question. Same as the previous method, additional functions are also available on this page which include: updating business information, purchasing a Certificate of Existence, as well as viewing more filed documents.
Search by Executive Name
Same as the previous methods above, head over to the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code Business Search portal.
On the page, change your search type and select “Executive Name.” Input the necessary information you have on the designated blank field. Click “Search” once you’re done.
On the next page, you will be required a $3 fee for the completion of the executive name search. If you wish to continue, there are two available payment options provided below to transfer the required fee.
Search for Name Availability
If you want to check the availability of your desired business name, you can use this option on the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code Business Search portal.
To begin, navigate head over to the page. Choose “Business Name” as your search type. Next, enter your desired business name and click “Search” to check its availability.
On the next page, you will find out if your desired entity name is available for use or not.
If the page states “no results found,” the business name is still available for use. However, if the page provided a list of results, this means that your desired entity name matched business names registered with the state.
