Search by Name

There are options located at the upper part, which are ‘Starts With,’ ‘Exact Match,’ and ‘Contains’ to refine your search.

If you are trying to check the availability of your preferred business name, the presented names on the list are most likely unavailable, so it’s best to propose a different name to be registered in Vermont.

This method is the most convenient way when searching for a particular business entity since providing a business ID will generate a single result. 

Begin by navigating on the business search portal of the Vermont Secretary of State. Then, enter the Business ID on the provided field (Business ID) and click ‘Search’ to generate results.

Using the advanced search option of the Vermont business search portal will allow you to select specifications for your search which include: business type, business status, city, registered agent, principal name, NAICS code, and zip code. 

Enter the necessary information based on the option/s you have selected. Hit the search button once you’re finished.
